Your first 8 one-on-one sessions, starting with Session Zero — a 90-minute assessment where we find your real goal and do your first workout. At the studio or at your home nearby, same price. One per new client.
The equipment is there, but so are ninety other people, loud music, and machines nobody explains. Many people walk in once and don't come back.
Properly equipped, one coach and one client, a short walk or drive from you in Don Mills. The full rack, cables and free weights mean we can keep loading you as you get stronger — and nobody is watching.
If getting out is the hard part, I come to you. If you live nearby, there is no extra charge. We build the program around the space you have, and you can move to the studio later when you want heavier work.
This is the question almost everyone asks, and the honest answer is that the evidence points firmly the other way.
The National Strength and Conditioning Association — the body that certifies me — publishes a position statement on resistance training for older adults. Its conclusion, put simply: appropriately programmed and supervised strength training is safe for older adults, and is one of the most effective things available for maintaining muscle, bone density, balance and functional independence.
The risk is not in training. The risk is in the slow loss of strength that happens when you don't.
Supervision and appropriate programming are what make it safe — which is exactly what one-on-one coaching is for.
You will be coached as an adult and loaded appropriately. Age-appropriate does not mean easy — it means correctly matched to you.
Many people come to strength training after finishing physiotherapy, when treatment ends and they're told to keep strengthening but have nowhere to do it.
I work strictly within whatever restrictions your physiotherapist or doctor has set, and I'm glad to coordinate with them directly. I'm a strength coach — I don't diagnose or treat, and I'm clear about where my scope ends.
Honours Kinesiology degree from Western University, and the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation — the certification that requires a university degree to sit for, and the standard used by professional strength coaches.
Also certified as a Personal Trainer through ISSA and as a Level 1 Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition.
My clients range from their thirties into their eighties. Older adults are a meaningful part of the practice, not an afterthought.
Coaching available in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Tell me what you want to still be able to do in ten years, and we'll build backwards from there. No commitment beyond that.
